The Missoula County Superintendent of Schools oversees the rural schools, including Sunset, Swan Valley, Woodman and Potomac schools. The County Superintendent also helps home school parents, assists trustees with budgeting, finance and recruitment, placement of teachers, curriculum development and more. While it shares a similar name, the Missoula County Superintendent of Schools does not oversee the Missoula County Public School system. MCPS is a separate jurisdiction with its own superintendent and school board. Click here to contact the MCPS superintendent.
Please also keep in mind that the Board of Trustees of each school district sets policies, not the Superintendent of Schools, and the Montana Office of Public Instruction approves a school’s accreditation status.

Attendance areas are boundaries located inside a large school district; e.g. MCPS, District 1
