Engineering activities regulated by Missoula County Public Works include, but are not limited to:

• Excavation within public rights-of-way
• Construction testing and certification
• Storm drainage in zoned areas
• Subdivision submittal requirements
• Approaches in public rights-of-way
• Weight restrictions on county roads and bridges
• Addressing

Excavation permit applications require:

• Site plan showing areas of excavation
• Revegetation plan signed by the Dept. of Ecology and Extension

Approach permit applications require:

• Site plan showing entire property with access location and width

If planning to do work in or near a river or stream on public or private lands, a 310 permit must first be obtained through the Missoula Conservation District.
