Pretrial Services is currently located in the John Engen Local Government Building (the former federal building) in downtown Missoula.

Please note that while the office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, the doors on both Pine and Pattee streets (across from the Missoula Art Museum) will be locked. Please ring the doorbell on the Pattee Street entrance and a staff member will let you in. Please call 406-258-4321 if you have any questions.

 

In September, Pretrial Services will move locations and will be on the second floor of the Missoula County Courthouse in downtown Missoula. From the main courthouse doors on Broadway, walk up the stairs behind the security desk. From the annex entrance on Pine Street, take the stairs next to Liquid Planet to the second floor and turn left.

What We Do

  • Provide risk information and release options to the court to assist with bail decisions.
  • Monitor compliance of court ordered release conditions.
  • Alcohol and substance use testing and GPS monitoring.
  • Provide the court with ongoing progress reports to assist with case processing.
  • Provide court reminders to support the defendant’s appearance in court.
  • Assistance for housing, employment, transportation, and social support.
  • Support service referrals target underlying issues which may contribute to further criminal justice system involvement.
